Sales Management Resources (SMR) was established in 1995 to provide leading consumer products companies the recruitment of exceptional sales and marketing managers. Company President Clarence "Clancy" Salway had 25 years of sales management experience in consumer products before founding the company, and intentionally, each of the SMR recruiters and researchers on staff has had successful careers in either sales or marketing before joining the company. Clancy received his MBA from Pepperdine University in 1982, and after 10 years of senior management assignments, organized the Southern California-based firm.
SMR uses state-of-the-art technology in their approach to the recruiting process. First, the company continually updates one of the most comprehensive proprietary databases of mid-senior level sales and marketing managers in the industry. Next, SMR uses personal contact as well as the Internet to effectively match candidates to job orders. And finally, as an affiliate member of First Interview, SMR has access to over 500 recruiters across the country via sophisticated intranet technology.
